La Casita is a Cultural Center that is an entity of Syracuse University. They have an art gallery, library, and community space where they hold workshops ranging in activities from STEM to dance, art, and more for children and parents. I had the opportunity to help facilitate summer art programming in social & emotional learning through art for elementary age students and parallel learning activities for their mothers, grandmothers, aunts, and other caretakers. This facilitated community building within and across each of these groups and broader learning in their families and communities outside of these workshops. Upon the conclusion of this program, I supported the visiting artist workshop series that was hosted in preparation for an upcoming exhibition.
