RISD
Museum
I had the privilege of interning in School & Teacher programs at the RISD Museum, where I taught school visits to students ages K-12. We hosted groups of a wide variety of interests from English learners to history classes, art & design classes, math classes, and more. I was responsible for getting to know the collection to best provide information about the works to students, leading group discussion surrounding the selected pieces, and facilitating the associated artmaking activities. Lessons were developed in collaboration with other museum educators and the visiting classroom teachers. I also designed and taught informational classroom visits for students prior to their museum trip. As a culmination of this work, I created a guided sketchbook based that was implemented as a curriculum for self guided tours. More information about this resource can be found on the thesis tab.
