Mini Makerz is a program that provides free, high quality art enrichment for students ages 4-7 who are enrolled in public school in Providence and the surrounding areas. It is hosted at the Mt. Pleasant community library and based on the philosophy of engaging students through material exploration, play, and storytelling. I had the privilege of  teaching in the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 series where I worked to incorporate contemporary artists into play based lessons. Students engaged with a book or work of art before embarking on an artmaking project of their own within a variety of themes and materials. I collaborated with librarians and other teaching artists to coordinate lessons, literature, and display of work in the library as well as promoted these workshops via social media to increase our audience as the program expands.
